BRIGHTON has been named Britain’s top seagull attack hotspot. Long-suffering residents and tourists in the seaside town have fallen prey to the most divebombing assaults.

It beat Blackpool, Whitby, Scarborough, St Ives, Hastings and Newquay in a poll by insurance firm Caravan Guard.

Half of Brits have been victims of an attack by the psychotic flying scumbags, the study found.

The firm’s Liz Harrison said: “Our survey highlighted just how common seagull attacks are across the UK with some popular seaside destinations being prone hotspots.

“We want holidaymakers to enjoy their breaks away this summer without the traumatic experience of being dive-bombed.”

The angry birds love snatching ice creams, fish and chips, sunglasses, bags and hats.

Experts recommend protecting your head with your hands but say waving them can enrage the birds.

The animals frequently aim poo at victims “with great accuracy” or regurgitate food towards them.

Tourist Simon Bollon, of York, said: “I was in Whitby last year, and bought fish and chips.

“We sat on the seafront but a huge seagull stole my fish. We bought a new portion and I sat with my coat over my head to eat them!”

I’m A Celebrity’s castle bosses are so concerned about the pests they have recruited a winged army to see them off.

Producers will use peacocks and buzzards at Gwrych Castle, Conwy.

And Devizes, Wilts, is being invaded despite being 50 miles from the sea.

Cllr Laura Mayes said: “People report serious health, work and lifestyle problems – disturbed sleep, damage to homes or cars.”
