Sigala’s now a home boy!

‘LOCKDOWN WAS SO PRODUCTIVE FOR ME’

-

THE Pandemic has made Sigala re-evaluate how much time he spends on the road.

After enjoying the past five months at home, the chart-topping producer has realised he is much more productive when he’s not touring.

Sigala, real name Bruce Fielder, told me: “When lockdown first came I was in the middle of my first proper world tour.

“It was really sad for everyone involved but at the same time it has been really nice being at home for a while, being able to chill, as I haven’t spent this much time at home since I started seven or eight years ago.

“Maybe artists will realise they don’t want to tour as much, and they will realise this time has actually been very productive and so they will manage their time differently.

“I have realised that making music is the priority to me and that’s the bit I enjoy the most. I love touring and doing the actual shows but everything that goes around that is very tiring and stressful being on tour. If I hadn’t been touring I probably would have put out twice as much music.”

Bruce has been utilising his time off to reach out to his pop contacts and will next week release a collab with James Arthur, Lasting Lover, a song Lewis Capaldi originally penned for himself.

And Sigala has plenty more tricks up his sleeve, including tracks with Little Mix, Raye, and Liam Payne.

The Lullaby hitmaker admitted: “There’s one with Little Mix and

MNEK, I met the girls a while back when we happened to be in the same studio block. We stayed in touch. “I got in touch with Liam over Instagram and said I would really like to do something and so would he – so we are going to try and make something happen.”

● Lasting Lover is out on Friday.
