ENABLE appears to have a simple task on Saturday at Kempton where she will have her swansong on a British racecourse before attempting a third historic victory in the Arc de Triomphe.

Two years ago Enable limbered up for her second victory in the Arc after taking Saturday’s Unibet September Stakes. Nine runners have been entered for the mile-and-a-half contest that include her stable companion Logician, like Enable owned by Khalid Abdullah.

Teddy Grimthorpe, Abdullah’s racing manager, said: “Enable is very much an intended runner.

“We entered Logician just in case as we’re considering a couple of different options but they won’t run against each other.”

This will come as a relief to Frankie Dettori who would never desert Enable but admits he has a high opinion of Logician whom he partnered to win last year’s St Leger.

Charlie Fellowes is set to saddle Prince Of Arran before he attempts to better his second behind Vow And Declare in last year’s Melbourne Cup.

Sir Michael Stoute’s Alignak, the David Simcock-trained Almania, Andrew Balding’s Fox Tal, James Fanshawe’s Kirstenbosch, Richard Hughes’ Punting and Tinandali from David O’meara’s yard are also entered.

Enable, 1-5 for Saturday’s race, is 11-4 for next month’s Arc, which will be her final race before going stud. Favourite Love is 15-8 with Ladbrokes. PAUL HANAGAN, sidelined for six months after breaking his back at Newcastle, rode his first winner since returning 13 days ago when partnering Spirit Dancer to victory at Ripon yesterday.
