Teen held as boy, 15 shot on way to school
A BOY of 15 suffered serious injuries in a shooting near a school yesterday.
Armed police sealed off part of market town Kesgrave, Suffolk, after the incident involving a pupil on his way to lessons in the morning.
The victim was airlifted to Cambridge’s Addenbrooke’s Hospital, where he was last night receiving urgent medical attention for “very serious” injuries.
Armed police were later seen in a street five miles away in Ipswich.
A teenager was later arrested and was last night in custody for questioning over the incident.

Parents posted on Facebook about hearing the gunshot and their kids fleeing home after the terrifying incident.
The head teacher at Kesgrave High School, Julia Upton, sent a message to parents saying: “We have been made aware by the police that there has been a serious incident involving one of our Year 11 students on their way to school.
“Students in school are safe and we are managing the situation in constant close communication with the police. Students are to remain in school, and will be kept safe in liaison with police.”
Parent Lisa Sayer wrote on Facebook: “Something major has happened. My daughter and friends were walking to school and heard what sounded exactly
like a gun shot. Then lots of people screaming and a lady saying ‘ run someone has been shot’.
“I had 4 terrified children running back to mine.
“There are now at least 4 police cars lined up outside the road involved. Keep safe everyone.”
