A day after being caught cosying up to his movie co- star, luvvie Dom West faces the music next to his loyal wife
ACTOR Dominic West kissed wife Catherine in a bizarre public display of affection yesterday – after claims he was too close to co- star Lily James.
DEFIANT Dominic West sealed his marriage with a kiss amid claims he had grown too close to pretty co- star Lily James. The 50- year- old The Affair star put on a united front with wife Catherine yesterday after pictures emerged of him in a romantic clinch with the Mamma Mia! actress, 31. Holding hands and smiling, the actor and his wife struck a denial pose reminiscent of Tory MP David Mellor’s appearance over his affair with Antonia de Sancha in 1992.
West said: “Our marriage is strong and we’re very much still together” before handing out a piece of paper with the same statement to reporters and kissing his wife. The paper featured their signatures.
The telly hunk was seen in Rome with Downton Abbey star Lily, who split “for good” from her on/ off boyfriend Matt Smith last week. West was caught on camera stroking Lily’s hair and nuzzling her neck while they sat down for lunch together.
It set tongues wagging across the TV industry. West and Catherine, 49, who married in 2010 and have four children, refused to answer any questions yesterday about what had happened in Italy.
West was pictured walking in front of his Wiltshire home, raising his left hand up in the air to show that he wasn’t wearing a wedding ring.
Catherine kept her ring finger in her jeans pocket as she leaned in to kiss her husband.
She had tissue in her hand, indicating she may have been crying.
The defiant pair were then spotted leaving their home for an unknown location moments later.
A friend of Catherine’s said earlier this week: “She has seen the pictures.”
