I’M A CELEB FACES BAN!

Wales set for curbs on travel

- By ANDREW JAMESON andrew. jameson@ dailystar. co. uk

I’M A Celebrity was facing trouble last night as Wales threatened to ban people entering the country from England.

Mark Drakeford, the First Minister of Wales, is worried about the spread of the virus.

He has asked Prime Minister Boris Johnson to stop people coming from Covid hotspots in England from entering his country. But he said Boris had not replied – and now he’s planning his own travel restrictions.

I’m A Celebrity is planning to broadcast from Gwrych Castle in north Wales.

Mr Drakeford said: “No reply from the Prime Minister has been

received in reply to my request. I have therefore asked for work to be brought forward which would allow for devolved powers to be used to prevent people travelling into Wales from high prevalence areas of the United Kingdom.”

The First Minister added: “The timetable for the powers is to do it by the end of the week.”

It is believed ITV has forked out £ 1million to host the 2020 series at the supposedly haunted 200- year- old castle.

But it has been reported programme bosses are locked in “urgent talks” about axing the s eries due to the threat of another Covid- 19 lockdown.

On Saturday the show’s hosts Ant Mcpartlin and Declan Donnelly had different attitudes to mask wearing as they left the Britain’s Got Talent final.

Ant did not wear one but Dec was masked up. NORTHERN Ireland is to enter up to four weeks of a “circuit- breaker” style lockdown from tomorrow.

First Minister Arlene Foster will close pubs and restaurants for four weeks. Schools will shut from Monday for two weeks.
