Today’s kids don’t know real poverty
Before vacuum cleaners and tea bags were invented my mother after making a pot of tea would scatter the wet tea leaves on our living room rug ( couldn’t afford carpet) to keep dust down while she brushed it. Millenniums don’t know the half of what we went through and don’t realise how lucky and pampered they are but even through all the hard times without today’s technology we had a great childhood. As a fan Marcus Rashford I think he is so brilliant in his work for feeding the school children giving them free meals. I trust the 3.4m fans he has called on to lobby MPS do so. It’s absurd that Boris Johnson and his cronies are resisting the call. Phil

Planned rises in transport fares, withdrawal of senior free/ reduced travel, emission zones to charge those that cannot afford new cars, increases on petrol, booze and Council Tax to name but a few. re nostalgic food. 50 yrs ago High Tea on Sunday served as westminster chiming mantel clock struck 4. Sunday best bone china unchipped crockery, Apostle teaspoons, a choice of cheese or beef paste sandwiches, jelly, cold custard, tinned peaches, homemade fruit cake and scones served with homemade gooseberry jam! All washed down with loose leaf tea that stuck to yer teeth! Let’s campaign for return of this very civilised and traditional ritual! Lily the pink
