SPITTING Image co- creator Roger Law wants Donald Trump to lose next week’s US Presidential election.
But he admits it will be a huge blow to the TV series if Joe Biden ousts him from the White House.
Law tells Radio Times: “Donald Trump is an absolute gift for a satirical show but on the other hand I would like to see him go, I really would.”
Bungling tycoon Trump has featured heavily in sketches on the satirical puppet show on Britbox for the past four weeks as scriptwriters took the mickey out of him catching coronavrius and tweeting with his colon at night.
However, if he fails to win a second term, Spitting Image will have a huge hole to fill.
Puppet masters are working on how to re- style their Biden puppet if the Democrat candidate gets into office.
Law said: “If Biden wins I think we might have to remake him.
“The current puppet hasn’t got a blink; he’s got no eyes.
“The mouth is good but he wears a mask with ‘ Shut up, man!’ written on it.”
It was revealed that Spitting Image will not be shown in the US as TV bosses are worried about upsetting the powerful people the show mocks.
Law said of the controversy: “In America there’s a superficial politeness to this country of people who’ve all got guns.
“You’ve someone like
Trump running the country yet they call him ‘ sir’. That wouldn’t happen here.” He added: “People here are rude to one another and there’s a taste for cruel humour.
“People voted for Boris, we make him look like a shambles and yet they’re still very happy to laugh at it.”
