WARREN DANIEL CAN HAVE IT OL

- Interview by CHRIS MCKENNA FRANK IN ASSOCIATION WITH

IF Anthony Joshua decides to drop the WBO heavyweight belt to fight Tyson Fury then I’ll be putting the winner of Daniel Dubois and Joe Joyce forward to face Oleksandr Usyk.

Dubois and Joyce meet in a blockbuster showdown on November 28, and the winner is a surefire future world champion.

I see no reason why either man couldn’t take on the Ukrainian superstar. I’d back Dubois ( right) or Joyce to come out on top in that fight so let’s keep an eye on how all this plays out. Usyk has to get past Derek Chisora first and then we have to see what happens with Joshua, Fury and the WBO belt. But Dubois is No. 2 in the rankings while Usyk is the mandatory challenger so it should be easy to make.

Dubois and Joyce are both exciting talents in their own right, they are starting to make waves in the heavyweight game and taking on a big name would only enhance their profile.

Most importantly, I really believe Dubois and Joyce would beat Usyk.

Usyk is a very special talent but we haven’t really seen how good he is at heavyweight.

He wasn’t amazing in his first fight in the division against Chazz Witherspoon.

Now he faces a fighter I promoted for many years in Chisora.

I’ve lost count of the amount of times Del has been given big opportunities and not quite lived up to the level expected of him. I really fancied him in some of those big fights before, especially the second fight with Fury.

Little did we know at the time what a wonderful, era- defining talent Fury would turn out to be!

You have to give Derek some chance against Usyk just because of the size and the fact he can whack. Chisora may give it a go but I think we will see a better Usyk at heavyweight this time.
