Henri Zeqo, 24, tried to hobble away but was caught and charged with causing criminal damage as well as drugs offences.

Warrington Magistrates’ Court heard officers raided the three- bedroom house in Widnes, Cheshire, after reports of a strong smell of cannabis. They found 66 plants inside.

Chief Inspector Ian Whiley, of Widnes Local Police Unit, said after last Wednesday’s raid: “We have been able to seize a significant quantity of cannabis which could have been destined for the streets. We have also been able to bring a man to justice for producing the Class B drug and damaging a police car as he attempted to avoid being arrested.

“We are fully aware of the negative impact the use and supply of illegal drugs can have on communities.

“We are pleased that Henri Zeqo is now behind bars facing the consequences of his actions. Although this case has now concluded, our battle against those who are involved in the production and supply of illegal drugs continues.”

David Keane, police and crime commissioner for Cheshire, added: “Illegal drugs and those who produce and supply them blight our communities.

“It causes untold damage to those who use them and the wider society who suffer from the resulting crime.

“I know that officers work tirelessly in their fight against the supply of illegal drugs. I am delighted to hear of this latest successful result.”

Zeqo was jailed for six months after admitting producing a Class- B drug.

story moves on, the more familiar viewers will be with the real- life version. So tweaking the truth to make better telly could become more of a snag.
