But it was largely defence versus attack by that point and when Jadon Sancho picked out Foden in the 80th minute, he buried a left- footed shot into the far corner.
And Foden added a superb second four minutes later, taking the ball from Harry Winks and smashing a left- footed shot home from 22 yards.
