TWISTED trolls threatened to microwave Rebekah Vardy’s unborn baby after fellow WAG Coleen Rooney accused her of snitching about her private life. The wife of Leicester City striker Jamie was left “suicidal” after being blitzed with abuse when Coleen publicly outed her for allegedly leaking stories about her. After Rooney, 34, made the allegation to her two millions followers, Vardy was Google- searched more than Brexit. The mum- of- five, who was months’ pregnant at the time, was called a barrage of names, and accused of leading Islamic

State and snatching missing Madeleine Mccann.

One troll even tried to blackmail her for £ 17,000 by falsely claiming to have evidence of her husband Jamie being unfaithful. Dancing On Ice contestant Vardy, 38, who was yesterday pictured in training in Nottingham, is suing the wife of Manchester United and England legend Wayne Rooney, 35, for £ 1million for defamation.

In the first hearing of the case at the High Court in London yesterday Vardy’s lawyer Hugh Tomlinson QC said his client had been subjected to hostility and abuse when she had “done nothing wrong”. He added: “Whatever leaks there were did not seven come from her. The fact that both women are married to professional footballers has led to this action being trivialised as WAG wars. But the impact on Mrs Vardy was not trivial.

“The abuse that followed the post made the claimant feel suicidal. She suffered from severe panic attacks and anxiety.’’ Rooney’s lawyer David Sherborne, who represented actor Johnny Depp in his libel trial, said his client did not think the case should have come to court. The mum- of- four thought Vardy was leaking information when a story of her involvement in a car crash in 2019 appeared days after she had posted it on a private Instagram account. Rooney then posted three fake tales on her private Instagram Stories account – and blocked all followers except Vardy. Mr Sherborne asked the judge Mr Justice Warby to rule on whether Rooney had outed Vardy or the controllers of her Instagram account. He said only four people had access to it at the time – Rebekah, her agent, husband Jamie or his social media manager. After the judge gives his ruling later today the case will be adjourned until February 8 to allow both parties to try to reach an agreement in private. If they fail a trial will take place next summer.
