No Mr Bond, you’re furloughed

JAMES Bond’s new film No Time To Die furloughed staff earlier this year – despite the last 007 movie grossing £ 661million worldwide.

The claim is reported in new accounts for production company B25 Limited at Companies House.

It said: “Government grants totalling £ 95,487 have been received during the period under der the job retention scheme.

“It has been recognised ogcunder the accruals model in relation - to furlough for r payroll staff in n

March to June 2020.”

The taxpayerfu­nded - scheme was as introduced by Chancellor anearlier Rishi Sunak earlier this year.

Previous Bond film Spectre, produced by Barbara Broccoli, inset, brought in £ 661m while 2012’ s Skyfall was the highestgro­ssing 007 film in the franchise’s history, taking £ 700m worldwide.

According to the accounts, No Time To Die has so far cost £ 213,916,164 to make. The premiere had already once been moved from April to November because of the pandemic.

It has now been further delayed until April 2 “in order to be seen by a worldwide theatrical audience”, a film website statement said.

It added: “We understand the delay will be disappoint­ing to our fans but we now look forward to sharin sharing No Time To Die nex next year.”

The movie marks Daniel Craig’s final appearance as British secret service agent, 0 007 after five outings.

Meanwhile, the U UK’S death toll from Cov Covid- 19 has now exceeded ceede the grim 60,000 mark k – l less than a month after it passed the 50,000 milestone.

The Government said yesterday that a further 414 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for the virus.
