Respect for job lacking

- ■ by DAVID YATES

MY girlfriend doesn’t respect my job and isn’t supportive.

Even though I’m working from home, my bosses expect me to put in long hours.

But she deliberately crashes about making loads of noise. She gets cross if I attempt to return to my laptop after dinner and complains I’m selfish and bad company.

Usually, I spend about 15 days a month travelling around the UK and Europe. I think she’s jealous of my success and salary.

Why can’t she see that not everything is about her?

JANE SAYS: It can’t be much fun for your girlfriend sitting on her own in the evening while you hit the keyboard again.

Don’t allow your bosses to take advantage of you.

If she’s unfulfilled in her own work, then talk about her options post-lockdown.

Also, talk honestly about how things are going to be for you.

I don’t think she’s jealous of your work.

It’s more likely she’s worried about you getting back on the treadmill.

Remember that she wants you both to enjoy a fully rounded relationship.

I worry that you could lose her if you don’t start to meet her halfway.

OISIN MURPHY tomorrow makes his comeback from a three-month drugs ban with three mounts at Lingfield.

The Irishman, 25, champion jockey for the past two seasons, received the suspension from French racing regulator France Galop after testing positive for metabolites of cocaine at Chantilly in July. “March is always quiet in the UK but I’ve got Dubai at the end of the month and I’ve picked up some nice rides there,” Murphy (above) said.

“I’ve worked hard in the gym so I’m pretty fit, but there’s nothing like raceriding, so I’d like to knock in as many winners as I can before I head over there.”

Murphy remains the

7-4 favourite to rack up a hat-trick of jockeys’ title wins.
