LABOUR deputy leader Angela Rayner has been accused of never using the £249 Airpods she put on expenses.

The MP yesterday the cost of the headphones, saying she needed them to work from home.

But political bloggers Guido Fawkes have scoured clips of her since she bought them 11 months ago and say they could not find a single one of her wearing them.

When asked about the headphones on Good Morning Britain yesterday, Mrs Rayner defended Apple said: “Well, £249 on a pair of Airpods so that I can carry out my job is nowhere near billions of pounds that has been wasted on contracts to people with no experience whatsoever.”

The politician claimed more than £2,100 for equipment by last April. John O’connell, of the Taxpayers’ Alliance, said: “MPS should ask themselves if it was necessary when millions may face unemployment.”

Mrs Rayner’s office was contacted for comment.

Mega-rich Adele will not be forking out cash to support her ex-husband Simon Konecki.

The Rolling In The Deep singer, 32, and her 46-year-old former beau finally had their divorce settled earlier this month.

The couple announced their separation in April 2019 and Adele filed court documents five months later.

But it is thought disputes emerged over how to divide up Adele’s £140million fortune, including the couple’s £34.7m property portfolio.

It was also believed the pair brought in mediators to help split up their joint assets.

However, legal documents have now reportedly revealed: “Each party waives the rights to seek or obtain any spousal support from the other party.” The couple also agreed joint physical custody of their eight-year-old son Angelo.

A source said: “They made it very clear they didn’t want to set lawyers on each other, but the process hasn’t been exactly straightforward all the same.

“The priority was making sure they did right by their son Angelo. The first thing they agreed on was sharing custody and since then it has been about dividing up the rest of their marital finances fairly.”

Adele and Simon started dating in 2011. The couple welcomed Angelo the following year and married in 2016. Adele and Simon’s representatives were contacted for comment.

Insiders say Adele could release a new album soon.
