£1,599 A BUNCH? THAT’S BANANAS I’m Gunner be played by a rival

JOHNNY’S ROTTEN LUCK

- By AARON TINNEY

SHOPPER Cymbre Barnes went round the bend when she was charged £1,599 for bananas.

The 28-year-old bought the £1 bunch via Apple Pay at M&S in Greenwich, south London.

She said: “I did a double take when I saw the screen but my receipt was being printed.”

M&S blamed an “isolated error” and offered her compensation.

ARSENAL nut John Lydon is set to cry foul when he learns the actor playing him in a Sex Pistols biopic is a fan of arch-rivals Spurs.

The former Pistols frontman is a diehard Gunner, raised near the team’s old Highbury ground in north London.

Meanwhile, actor Anson Boon follows a family tradition by supporting Tottenham – and he even took A-list actress Susan Sarandon to one of their games in 2019.

East Anglia-born Anson, 21, will play John – aka Johnny Rotten – in six-part TV drama Pistol, directed by Danny Boyle.

And the choice might have John kicking off as the 65-year-old admitted earlier this year he was so fanatical about Arsenal he became a football hooligan growing up.

He even said he found clashes with rival fans a “thrill”, adding: “There was real edge, real danger. It would be proper bloody hidings though. I got it a few times.”

And pouring scorn on today’s generation of football fans, the punk icon said: “Some of the fans go to football games now and they act like Jack the Lad. They

are just loudmouths and being loudmouth wasn’t where it was at.”

However, Anson has a gentler memory of how he got into football. He told the Spurs website: “My mum’s family grew up around the corner from White Hart Lane. When I got into football, I wanted to carry on the Tottenham tradition.”

Pistol is based on guitarist Steve Jones’ autobiography, Lonely Boy, and is set to air on American channel FX. a
