I’m now Tot-ally changed

ZAYN: I WAS SELFISH

SEA Shanty warbler Nathan Evans almost signed up as a Commando before going viral.

The Scot discussed “joining the Marines not long before all this happened” but laughed he’s “probably not anymore”.

Wellerman is on course for a second week at No1 and he teased an album will arrive “by the end of the year”.

FORMER One Direction star Zayn Malik feels like a new man since becoming a father.

The Bradford lad feared he would be a selfish dad until he and partner Gigi Hadid welcomed their daughter Khai last year.

Zayn confessed: “I didn’t expect to be so into it, to be honest.

“I was always into myself and doing my own thing like writing and recording and making music, I was very focused on my career.

“I had time for my relationship and stuff, too, but it was still solely about me.”

In fact, these days music definitely plays second fiddle to nappies.

“I just love spending my days with her, hanging out with her, just doing relaxing chilled stuff.

“Like watching kid shows on TV and learning nursery rhymes, rolling around with her.

“It’s a really different pace of life but it has been really easy to adjust to for sure and that’s been the most surprising thing.”

Zayn, who recently released third solo album Nobody Is Listening, sends his little one off to sleep by singing in Urdu.

He explained: “I make stuff up in my own home language in Urdu and in English.

“I just sing to her and it’s mainly melodies and sometimes she makes sounds back to me which is amazing.

“I like singing to her full stop. It’s pretty cool.”

Zayn is bringing up their daughter on Gigi’s family farm in Pennsylvania but they haven’t given up showbiz yet. He added: “We’re still thinking about work and what we want to do career-wise.

“But – maybe in the far future when we eventually pick a place to settle down – it will probably be something similar to this for sure, where it’s a relaxed environment and we can chill out.”
