WHAT PLANET ARE EU ON?

Euro numbskulls are at it again

EU bullies called for nations to “work together” to tackle pandemics – after launching a vaccine war against Britain.

German chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron joined 22 other world leaders, including Boris Johnson, to call for peace and cooperation to beat future outbreaks.

It came days after the brazen pair supported a move to seize and stockpile Uk-bound jabs. They backed EC president Ursula von der Leyen’s threat to ban the export of future jabs to

Britain while the continent’s vaccine rollout collapsed.

A joint leaders’ letter published globally insisted “nobody is safe until everyone is safe” and a proposed a treaty to build future cooperation.

Signatories said Covid-19 had “exploited” country divisions, adding: “There will be other pandemics… No single government or multilateral agency can address this threat alone.”

The EU and UK remain locked in talks over vaccine supplies, as Germany said it will restrict the use of Astrazeneca’s jab in under 60s amid fresh concern over blood clots.

Nearly 30.7million Brits have now had at least one jab. 56 people died yesterday within 28 days of a positive test, bringing the total to 126,670. There were 4,040 new cases confirmed.

FOR about five seconds it looked as if peace may have broken out. EU politicians yesterday joined forces with us in calling for a world treaty on the pandemic. That, in case you’d forgotten, is despite bitter European leaders like Merkel and Macron trying their best to undermine our fantastic vaccination progress. But, petty squabbles aside, this seemed like progress. Only, lo and behold, the Germans were back trying to rubbish our jab within hours. They’ve now banned huge swathes of their population from taking it due to unfounded claims about blood clots. Even though what seems like a million top scientists have given it the OK. Honestly, what is driving such cretinous behaviour? This country looks like it will have administered doses to almost an entire population by the summer.

And our poor European cousins will be lagging sadly behind because of these infuriatingly short-sighted actions.
