Sizzler on way
BRITAIN is set to sizzle in a 17C miniheatwave in a big boost for beer gardens.
Temperatures will start to feel a lot warmer towards the end of the month.
And it means meeting up with friends and family for pub visits will be much easier to enjoy, after lockdown restrictions were eased.
Over the next few days, it may still feel quite cold but forecasters say there will be plenty of sunshine about to lap up.
And by the end of next week, parts of the UK will experience highs of 17C .
The Met Office’s long forecast, from April 18 to 27, predicts: “It looks as though settled conditions will become more widespread again, with plenty of dry and bright weather. If any further outbreaks of rain do occur, they will most likely affect northwestern areas.” The bright weather and warmer temperatures will be welcome after a dramatic cooling at the start of this week.
In parts of Wales and England, fields were blanketed with snow when the mercury dropped close to freezing.
Over the coming week, most areas of the UK are set to avoid the rain with light cloud cover and sunny spells combining with high-single digit temperatures.
From today, showers are predicted for the south east, and there will be some fog in the south.
But the Met Office says the forecast will be otherwise be widely fine and settled with sunny spells, turning a little warmer by day into the weekend – though there will continue to be overnight frosts in some areas.
