- By DAVE ARMITAGE by SIMON BIRD

WALES keeper Danny Ward has signed a new four-year deal with Leicester.

Ward, 27, has made 14 appearances for The Foxes since joining from Liverpool in a £12m move in 2018.

He has been in the shadows of Kasper Schmeichel but has made five appearances this season including two in the Europa League.

Ward (right) said: “It’s a really good feeling.

“I had a really good feeling the first time around when I signed and, luckily, we’ve been able to grow together as a club and as a team so I’m really excited for what lies ahead.”

PAUL HECKINGBOTTOM has warned Sheffield United’s players that they are playing for their futures.

The Blades caretaker boss says the next permanent manager will already be watching the squad and making judgements.

And he reckons they can prove they belong in the Premier League even though relegation could be confirmed this weekend.

United are likely to have their drop to the Championship confirmed unless they win at Wolves to delay the inevitable.

Heckingbottom said:

“Yes, 100 per cent they are playing for their futures.

“The next manager will have been watching these games and they will make their minds up on players.

“You are always being judged, in or out of contract.

“They are trying for lots of different reasons. They are trying and giving everything for the shirt.

“It could be the last chance for some to shine in the Premier League. Others might like more of it.”

Oli Mcburnie has joined Billy Sharp on the sidelines with a broken foot.
