WOLVES SHEFF UTD

- BY HECK, YOU FIGHT ■ by SIMON BIRD

everybody because we love each other here.

“We want to enjoy our time here and when a player is injured there’s a sadness and frustration about it.

“But you bounce back and you work hard and you also work hard to show those players that you are waiting for them to return.”

The Molineux boss said he won’t be treating the Blades like Premier League whipping boys, adding: “We don’t differentiate between teams at the top and those at the the bottom.

“There’s no difference in our eyes. They are a good team and they have shown that to everyone before.

“One thing I do know about them is that the character and determination is there. They’ve had a difficult season but the character of that bunch of players isn’t in question and we’re expecting a very tough match.”

PAUL HECKINGBOTTOM has ordered Sheffield United to “fight to the end”.

The stand-in boss has a host of injuries to cope with as the Blades contemplate having relegation confirmed against Wolves tonight. Striker Billy Sharp had an operation on a tendon problem, and Oli Mcburnie is out for the season with a stress fracture.

John Fleck has groin trouble and Chris Basham’s recovery is “slow going.”

But Heckingbottom (inset) said: “We have to fight to the end. Results are everything. Belief comes from results. They have come in and we have tried to increase the intensity, not just for the short term but the long term. It is a strange situation.

“The confidence was not easy to resurrect. Someone would be a millionaire to know how to resurrect that. Results would build the belief. We have not been creating enough. We are looking to improve.

“I need to be able to push them because I have their best interests at heart.”
