BUS WOKERS!
‘Idiot’ James fearing revolt over his jokes
JAMES Buckley is so petrified his off-the-cuff gags will get him cancelled that he fears chatting.
The actor has dedicated his life to trying to make people laugh by sharing jokes and acting the “idiot”.
But he feels the woke mob has twisted conversation into such a “minefield” – and he’s worried one wrong move while out and about could end his TV career.
Dad-of-two James, famed for his “bus w **** r” catchphrase as Jay Cartwright on E4’s The Inbetweeners, admitted: “I’m not an old fella, but I am scared to say anything these days. It is a minefield, it really is. Ever since I was a kid I just wanted to make people smile and laugh.
“And I don’t care about making a fool out of myself if that helps my mission. Offending someone is the opposite of what I’m trying to achieve, but I’m an idiot.”
Londoner James, 33, who shares kids Harrison and Jude with wife Clair, also 33, added: “I care about what people think about me. I want people to think that I’m all right, that’s important to me.”
Blasting preachy “snowflake” campaigns which make him feel guilty about everything from driving to occasionally
eating red meat, the TV star fumed: “I’m very much interested in trying to improve myself and trying to be better.
“But you’re made to feel guilty about absolutely everything these days.
“Like, I have to drive a car every now and then, I know it’s bad for the environment, but sometimes I do it. Sometimes I do eat a burger – it’s bad, awful.”
Despite his concerns, popular James has made at least £300,000 flogging foul-mouthed videos to fans on celeb messaging app Cameo, often flinging abuse in the style of his alter-ego Jay.
