MY girl is definitely having an affair but won’t admit it.
Too many times now I’ve found cigarette butts in the bin, which is weird considering that neither of us smoke…
I only have to look in the recycling to find empty bottles of vodka and beer that she claims to have drunk by herself. I beg her not to treat me like a fool, but she will not admit the truth.
She continues to look me in the eye and tell me the most outrageous lies. The cigarette butts? An old friend popped over. The underpants under the bed? Her brother stopped by, fancied a sleep and must have left them there by mistake…
Then she accuses me of being paranoid and having a “dirty mind”.
My job takes me all over the country. Yet every time I leave the house I feel as though I’m about to be stabbed in the back.
I suspect my rival is the guy she was sleeping with when we first met. He was married and she felt that she “taught him a lesson” by going off with me.
He’s recently divorced and hanging around like a bad smell. I can tell when she’s texting him because a stupid, sneaky look comes over her face. And I can tell when they’ve been intimate because she’s so fired up and
horny that she wants even more sex with me, which is insulting.
This is not the way I wish to live my life. But everything is so complicated because she won’t admit to living a double life.
What am I supposed to do when every fibre of my body is screaming “cheat” and she’s carrying on as if everything in the garden is rosy?

happen before you accept your girl is playing games?
Are you waiting until you actually see her lover emerging, naked from the shower?
She’s obviously decided to keep her gob firmly shut. But how can you possibly continue to live like this?
If you don’t feel you can trust the person you cohabit with, then your self-respect is going to continue to suffer.
Tell her that you need some time out for the sake of your mental health. Emphasise that you’re not stupid and won’t be treated like a fool.
If she doesn’t even bother
to hide the evidence of her affair then she can’t think very much of you.
Her lover is now a single man, so why isn’t she living with him? Is it cowardice that stops her from being honest? Is she too comfortable in the home she shares with you to rough with an impoverished, newly divorced man?
Something has to give because you can’t continue to stress. Start talking and bring things to a head before she tips you over the edge.
She thinks she’s clever but I suspect her arrogance will backfire in the long run.
