COMIC Johnny Vegas admits he needs just the right amount of booze to “let Johnny out” like a genie from a bottle.
The comedian revealed he had only performed sober once.

“I had in mind a one-man show to try and adapt to becoming Johnny Vegas and explaining the difference between Michael and Johnny and becoming Johnny at the end.
“But it’s such a psychological process with Johnny, you can’t just let him out guest. there for 10 minutes.” The unpredictable Lancashire star, famous for his comic rants, also worries about going back on the road because Britain has become so woke.
He fears snowflakes will be easily offended by his boozy, loudmouth alter ego.
Vegas said: “I had a very interesting chat about this the other day with another comic.
“Say you’re telling a story or you’re building up to a gag and one line can be taken out of context and put online. And it’s shared and then you’re defined by that one line.
“You start out and comedy was the most freeing thing. “And now I’m so guarded and tempted to not let Johnny off the leash and just come up with something presentable. “I hate to use this word of offending, but its a comic’s job to break down barriers.”
