KANE ALERT Low has special plan

- By DARREN LEWIS

JOACHIM LOW has revealed his Germany team will take “special measures” to deal with Harry Kane – despite his Euros goal drought.

The England captain failed to score in the three group games but Germany manager Low said: “Special measures? We have to be focused. “Look at Kane and the level he plays. He can score goals out of every situation. “This is his skills, his qualities. He has all of them. He is both footed, he is very good in the air. He can protect the ball very well.

“But England also has Sterling, Foden, Mason Mount maybe. “They have a lot of strong offensive players, attacking players with Sancho as well and Rashford.

“All these young talents, they’re so fast. They like to enter duels so their attack is a real threat.” Captain Manuel Neuer said Germany still have total respect for Kane’s goal threat.

The Bayern Munich keeper said: “He sacrifices himself and that is a dangerous sign.

“He will be completely motivated, 100 per cent, for this game. We have met him. We know him. We know how good he is. He is great in the air, strong. We know all about his qualities.”

Neuer also revealed Germany’s players intend to take the knee before kick-off this evening.

He added: “We have the different federations and organisations talking about it with each other. During the Euros we have had the captain’s band with the rainbow colours.

“I have worn it and Harry Kane wants to do the same. We are in favour of taking the knee.

“It is great to take the same position as England. They are in favour of tolerance and so we did not have to discuss it a lot.”
