SHARPSHOOTER TRENT HAS 2021 VISION

-

LIVERPOOL ace Trent Alexander-arnold is sharpening up his eye for a chance.

His confidence in playing balls into dangerous areas has long been one of the most threatening features of the Reds’ game.

And his keen eye for movement and his ability to locate space in the box is a skill he has been developing even more, undertaking vision training for the past year

Dr Daniel Laby, director of sports and performance vision at Sportsvisionny, has spent more than three

by MARK JONES decades working with a host of US sport’s biggest franchises and stars.

Now he is having an impact here with Alexander-arnold (right) admitting: “I’m seeing the benefit.

“I don’t know whether I’m seeing things that I wouldn’t usually see because no situation is the same in any game but I’ve learned to trust my vision a lot more.

“A video came out about the way I looked into the box a couple of times before I crossed it into Diogo, and it’s about those split-seconds.

I’m trusting that I’m making the right decision and then just executing that.”

His link-up with Mo Salah is something that goes a long way towards powering the Reds’ challenge on all fronts this season. And he feels it is still developing.

“We’ve always had a good connection and understanding but it’s definitely evolved,” said Alexander-arnold, who appears in the new JD Sports Christmas advert, King of the Street.

On the day Salah made his first Premier League start for

Liverpool in August 2017, Alexander-arnold was appearing for the third time.

He said: “The first couple of years it was more about playing in behind, whereas now it’s more intricate and we still play in behind as well.

“Both of us want to create things and want to score goals, assist, win games, be influential on the game, and the level of quality we’re showing on the right side this season is working well.”

The JD Sports Christmas campaign is airing now on TV, with JD exclusive product drops available online at jdsports.co.uk and in stores across the UK.
