WARREN FURY WILL PICK NEXT

- FRANK

TYSON FURY will be back in the ring in February or March – and we are pressing ahead to find an opponent.

As far as I’m concerned, Tyson is free to defend the WBC heavyweight title against anyone he wants while Dillian Whyte is in arbitration with the sanctioning body.

Who knows how long that will take, so why should my man have to wait?

Tyson wants to be active after one fight in 21 months due to the pandemic.

Joe

Joyce is one potential opponent after he moved up to No.2 in the WBC rankings.

We would like Tyson (inset) to come back to the UK after his last five fights have been across the pond in the US.

So an all-british clash with Joyce would be great if Whyte is tied up in arbitration still.

But while everyone says a fight with Canelo Alvarez is now like winning the boxing lottery, it is the same with Tyson. He is the star attraction at heavyweight and

Interview by CHRIS MCKENNA so there won’t be any shortage of challengers.

And as I’ve always said, Anthony Joshua should step aside from his rematch with WBA, IBF and WBO champion Oleksandr Usyk.

That would allow Fury to have an undisputed clash with the Ukrainian, while Joshua could get his confidence back with a win against another opponent.

But Whyte has to sort out his arbitration with the WBC. Many will say he has been made to wait yet again for his world title shot. But has he really been waiting all that long?

It’s not that long since he turned down £4m – according to Eddie Hearn – to fight Joshua for three world titles because he wasn’t happy with the rematch terms.

And when he was mandatory challenger for the WBC title back in August 2020, he got knocked out cold by Alexander Povetkin.

But if Fury is called to fight him, then he will beat him when the time comes.
