Dyche Chest not bothered
SEAN DYCHE insists he has no concern about Everton losing to non-League Chester.
The Toffees boss dismissed any fears that his side couldn’t beat the National League North outfit in a friendly in midweek.
Everton lost 1-0 in a game to give striker Dominic CalvertLewin minutes as they ready him to return away to Crystal Palace today.
The striker has not played since early February due to a hamstring injury and Dyche is desperate
by CHRIS McKENNA for him to return to fire the club to safety.
But they still didn’t have enough to beat non-League opposition in a game which sparked ridicule considering they are battling to stay in the Premier League.
Dyche said: “I’d expect them to work really hard, try to stay fit because of the injuries we have, and make sense of what the game offers. Come through it unscathed.
“If we’d have won it 16-0 and Dom didn’t score and got injured, what would you have been talking about then?
“Sometimes you have got to stick to the outcomes, because the rest of it has to be less important than that.
“We’ve been working really, really hard with the physios, with the medics with him, to make sure we give him the best possible opportunity to be as fully fit as possible.”
Dyche insists he is not feeling the pressure despite the financial disaster which could come if Everton drop to the Championship.
He said: “Absolutely not bothered about that at all. I’m more bothered about the work, the club, what we do, our planning, the detail, working with the players on a daily basis.
“That’s my focus. My life in football will come and go.
“People will forget you very quickly.
“I’m not bothered about my brand or what people think of me.
“It’s about what is going on at the club and making sure we do the right things to turn it around.”
