Title twist can’t be ruled out in TV double-header

- by MARK PEARSON

DESPITE Man City overhauling Arsenal at the summit of the Premier League, there could still be a twist or a turn in the title run-in – and over the course of a few hours tomorrow, there is the potential for that to happen.

Despite Fred paying out on Man City to win the title already, Arsenal are not going down without a fight and bounced back from a run of four without a win with brilliant back-to-back victories against Chelsea and Newcastle.

It’s another tough test for them when they entertain Brighton at 4.30pm.

Brighton’s European ambitions suffered a huge blow last weekend when they shipped five at home to struggling Everton. They’ve bounced back before though, following defeat at Notts Forest by doing the double over Man Utd.

Mikel Arteta’s (right) Arsenal know that nothing but nine points from their final three games will suffice. They are 8-11 for victory tomorrow while Brighton are 3-1 to reignite their European hopes. The draw, unhelpful for both teams, is 16-5.

Arsenal will either be fired up or a little deflated on the back of knowing Man City’s result at Everton, with that game kicking off a couple of hours earlier at 2pm. Where Everton’s rout over Brighton came from, we can’t be sure – they’ve hardly been threatening goals this season.

City are 1-3 to continue their relentless title march while Everton can all but secure safety with three points and are 8-1.

The favourite double pays 13-10, but a Premier League title race is rarely plain sailing and a Sunday curveball can’t be ruled out.
