Anti-tourist? Just don’t go to Spain

- Pontefract Brian Linford

❑The Deputy Mayor of Santa Cruz says that all-inclusive British holidaymakers should go elsewhere. British tourists contribute a lot to the local economy of Tenerife and other Spanish islands, and if they don’t want our custom there are several other holiday destinations in Southern Europe to choose from. Richard: he’s right about smacking kids. Nothing wrong with it if done properly like my old Man used to smack me with his belt. Half the time he used to whack his hand with it just to make a noise. I’d jump out of my skin and stop being a little git or whatever I was up to. I loved my Dad to bits but getting smacked was because I deserved it! He was doing me a great favour. Nothing wrong with fearing the consequences of bad behaviour! Bedford Boy

why is it that this government think everyone has a smart phone, I myself have a pay as you go phone & don’t know how to pay on line coming from a special school & being 82 year’s old, you know what they say, you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, & that goes reluctantly for my wife being in the same position as myself. MICHAEL OLEARY says he is happy to use Ryanair for the Rwanda flights adding a complete new perspective to the country being safe debated in the Lords until midnight finally passed Kigali may well be safe but Ryanair well documented for using airports 50 mile from your destination may not be. All back to the Lords then.

❑ Philp (Tory MP who asked if Congo is different country to Rwanda) is totally useless, I have stressed this a number of times. No wonder the country is on its knees when we have ministers as useless as Philp. How the hell did Philp get over promoted to his role, he should be no where near a cabinet role, he is simply incompetent. Dale ❑ Helena Handcart: illegal immigrants should be charged for putting innocent children at risk but how can you fine them when all they possess are the clothes they stand up in. J.Nair

❑ stop the benefits and freebies and the boats will stop. Mr coffee

❑ Good old maggie thatcher eh? Now that everything we had in the country was privatised under this horrible woman’s government, it’s all collapsing around us. Water, railways energy etc all sold off to make millions for her rich chums. Shareholders are rubbing their hands whilst the country crashes and burns!! Cumbrian Kev

someone said to me we’re living in the best time in humanitys history, i said rubbish, he said suppose you’d prefer the middle ages, i said ruling class controling the masses through fear and dogmatic narrative, keeping the people uneducated and divided, leaving people in poverty while elite class drinks to their own success while treading on the masses, whats the difference i said. pull on the leash too much and they pull back hard. john challenger

❑ Although the English language continues to evolve and change, ‘stolen’ still means stolen. Four Aboriginal spears that were stolen by British representative Captain Cook in 1770 have been returned to Australia after about 250 years. How long will it take for all of the ‘stolen’ material in museums in Britain, and in probably almost every museum in the world, to be returned to their owners or descendants? Some of this material is human remains that should be buried where they came from with appropriate respect. We now have the technology to capture the image of anything in 2D and 3D so let’s move museums to the virtual rather than the physical as we have with everything else.
