Verdicchio styles from Fazi Battaglia
Titulus: the original, everyday classic.
The historic amphora bottle is used for Fazi Battaglia’s instantly recognisable classic Verdicchio. Hand selected grapes from 7 vineyards sites over 130 hectares vinified in temperature controlled stainless steel vats to make a refreshing wine with an intense bouquet of peaches, apples and roses and an attractive bitter almond finish.
Le Moie: the fresh, marine style of Verdicchio.
From vineyards at the heart of the Castelli di Jesi Classico area, at altitudes near to sea level, with a southern exposure and on typically sandy soils rich in silt. In these warmer, typically Mediterranean conditions, Verdicchio ripens early to give a fresh, full-flavoured wine with good minerality.
Massaccio: the mature, soft style of Verdicchio.
From vineyards in the highest areas, facing south. Thanks to these unique topographical and environmental conditions, with cool nights and dry, sunny days, the grapes can stay on the vine beyond the normal harvest date. This allows a slight process of overripening with the noble intervention of botrytis. Verdicchio thus reaches a higher concentration and unique aromatic ripening.
San Sisto: the elegant, longlived style of Verdicchio.
The San Sisto vineyard at an altitude of 350m above sea level, consists of 30 hectares of vineyards with a northeastern exposure, on clay-loam soils. Each year, only the best grapes are chosen for the production of this cru wine. Cooler temperatures means the wine is firmlystructured, with good minerality, enhanced by long barrel and bottle ageing.
