What I’ve been drink­ing this month


When I tasted the 2015 vin­tage of Bodega Bouza’s Al­bar­iño, at the win­ery’s restau­rant near Mon­te­v­ideo, I was in­stantly trans­ported to the shores of the Sal­nés, in Spain’s Rías Baixas. From a rainy har­vest, this has a de­li­cious creami­ness that en­velops the palate, but at the same time there are min­eral tones, a juicy acid­ity and rich notes of white fruits. Try it now with seafood, but it will gain com­plex­ity with a few more years.
