What I’ve been drinking this month
Canalicchio Franco Pacenti, Brunello di Montalcino 1985 – bright garnet in the glass, aromas of wild berries and toasted nuts underscored with a touch of eucalyptus leaf. The lively profile, typical of the vintage, still persists on the broad, savoury palate, which has bitter orange and rhubarb flavours. Chalky tannins, refreshing acidity and a liquorice stick finish completes its amazing complexity. 96/ 100pts
