N/A UK www.villaleprata.com This winery was purchased in 1980 by Massimo Losappio, chief surgeon of the Montalcino hospital, who with his wife Marialuce, were driven by a passion for wine. After various acquisitions of land, Villa le Prata’s wine is a blend influenced by three different climatic zones around Montalcino, with differing altitudes, exposures and soil types, which all in turn create this wonderfully balanced wine. The wine spends 42 months in 5hl French oak tonneaux, followed by 24 months in 30hl Slavonian oak barrels.

BB Delicate, refined nose of red fruit, tobacco and fresh herbs unveils a complex and layered palate, with notes of cedar wood partnering wild red fruit and tapering to a very long, super-refined, almost weightless finish.

MG Ripe and spirity blue fruit aromas with hints of charred spice, while full and fleshy on the palate, with lively acid and ripe, seductive tannins.

SH A firm, robust and chunky style yet with very pretty and crisp herbal flavours – ethereal and beautifully nuanced.

Drink 2021-2030 Alc 14.5%
