£19 H2Vin This is a blend of Gros and Petit Manseng with a touch of Petit Courbu. A unique style with pungent tropical aromas and a hint of honey. Full-bodied, but with focused white fruits and a tangy acidity to keep the wine fresh. This is a wine full of personality. Alcohol 14%
Jean-Paul Brun, Terres Dorées, Chardonnay Classic, Beaujolais, France 2016 91 £12.40 Savage Selection
This white Beaujolais is made by a small and dynamic producer. It’s crisp and zesty, with aromas of white stone fruits and white flowers, finishing with a lovely chalky minerality. A great alternative to generic Chablis at a fraction of the price. Alc 12%
Triangle Wines, Salvo Semillon, El Peral, Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina 2017 91 £18.50 Urchin Wines
Semillon is not usually linked with Argentina, but this comes from a 120-year-old vineyard. A joint venture between Gerardo Michelini and dynamic importer Indigo Wine. Skin maceration gives texture and weight, giving a spicy mouthfeel and a tangy finish. Alc 12%

£16.25 The Wine Barn A visionary estate that’s one of Franconia’s leading Silvaner producers. This is intense and focused with white stone and citrus fruits, the palate driven by fruit purity and minerality. Easy to spot with its distinctive bottle shape. Alc 13%
Manni Nössing, Müller Thurgau Sass Rigais, Alto Adige, Italy 2016 91 £21.50 Lea & Sandeman
Young winemaker Manni Nössing took over the family domaine in 2000 and began bottling his own wines. This is very pure and lemony, with a remarkable texture and depth, plus wet stone minerality on the finish. Refreshing and very quaffable. Alc 13.5%
Blank Canvas, Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, New Zealand 2017 90 £18.99 Liberty Wines
All the classic Marlborough elements are present in this wine, but they’re dialled down a notch in a more restrained and sophisticated style. Abundant blackcurrant fruit plays across the palate with a lemony intensity and a pure crystalline finish. Alc 13%
Jean-Maurice Raffault, Chinon, Loire, France 2016 90 £14.50 Yapp Brothers Only 2% of Chinon is white – and this rare example makes you wish they made more. A graceful, unoaked style of Chenin Blanc, this is an ideal quaffer for an aperitif and shows Granny Smith aromas supported by a line of crisp acidity on the lemon zest-like palate. Alc 13%
Raventós d’Alella, Pansa Blanca, Alella, Spain 2016 90 £9.83 Vinissimus
Pansa Blanca is better known as Xarel-lo and famously used for Cava. However, it also makes delicious still wines in the tiny region of Alella, near Barcelona. This refreshingly quaffable white opens up to apple and floral aromas followed by a weighty, creamy palate with a nice tangy finish. Alc 13%

A joint venture between three friends including Jacques Seysses of Domaine Dujac and DRC’s Aubert de Villaine. Full-bodied and textured with exotic fruit and roasted nut characters, lifted by a bright acidity. Enjoy it with grilled fish and white meat. Alc 13.5%
Domaine Camp Galhan, Les Pérassières, Duché d’Uzès, Rhône, France 2015 91 £12.95 Yapp Brothers
Up-and-coming producer Lionel Pouquier has left the local co-op system to bottle his own wine. A beefy red to enjoy with roast lamb, this smells and tastes of garrigue, Provençal herbs and black cherry fruit, with savoury tannins. Alc 13.5% Paparuda, Estate Selection Feteasca ˘ Regala,˘ Romania 2016 90 £6.95 Tanners An aromatic alternative to Pinot Grigio. From Romania’s most widely planted variety, it is fresh, light and crisp with peachy and ripe apple aromas. This zesty and uncomplicated white is delicious and the ideal standby fridge wine to enjoy with or without food. Alc 11.5%

This little gem is so refreshing; it’s packed with tropical fruit characters balanced by a citrus intensity. Enough weight and richness on the palate to enjoy with a variety of food, with a saline finish to keep your tastebuds awake. If Sauvignon is your thing, then you will love this flavoursome wine. The quality of Sancerre rosés has improved substantially in recent years and this light and fruity Pinot Noir is a prime example. This pretty rosé ticks all the boxes: it’s crisp, dry and refreshing, with notes of fresh strawberry, packed with vibrant red fruit characters. Alc 13%
Eymann, Toreye Spätburgunder, Pfalz, Germany 2015 91 £19.50 Berry Bros & Rudd
Despite being the third largest producer of Pinot Noir in the world, German Pinot still remains hard to find. Lightbodied with delicate raspberry fruits and herbal notes balanced by grainy tannins and pristine acidity. Charming and very accessible – a great alternative to Burgundy. Alc 13%
Fonterutoli, On the QT Bin 7, Chianti Classico Riserva, Tuscany, Italy 2013 91 £19.99 Waitrose Predominantly Sangiovese; grapes from the Mazzei estate that has been in the same family for 24 generations. A typical Tuscan red, combining power and elegance with Morello cherry and fine tannins. A special one-off parcel; get it while you can. Alc 13.5%

The coastal location of this Tuscan estate imbues its Bordeaux blend with added freshness. Soft and refreshing with vibrant red and black cherry characters, ripe tannins and vivid acidity. A well-judged international style, with pleasing complexity. Alc 14%

House of Wine, The New Zealand Cellar Trinity Hill was the first producer to plant Tempranillo in New Zealand back in 2002. This resembles its Spanish equivalent with robust spicy cherry, a rich texture and sweet vanilla on the finish. Alc 13% Marco Sara, Schioppettino, Colli Orientali del Friuli, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy 2015 91 £18.50 Uncorked With a lovely poised balance, this medium-weight red is deliciously different. Cranberry fruit with dried leaf notes are juxtaposed with pristine acidity. A savoury style with sharp pomegranate and white pepper characters on the finish. Alc 13%

This southern Burgundy delivers a lot of pleasure for an inviting price. Expressive wine with summer berry fruit and an earthy edge. A traditional style of Pinot built around ripe tannins and a touch of spice from the oak, which adds complexity and texture. Alc 13%
