Kevin Wibberley said hearing that the men are now behind bars after smashing their way in The Eye Gallery was “no compensation” to him as the stolen stock is still missing.

The 56-year-old, of Repton, is hopeful that, once he can afford to get shutters fitted to the Sadler Gate shop, he will be back open for business.

Last month, homeless Ryan Reynolds was jailed for 50 weeks after admitting forcing his way into Mr Wibberley’s shop on May 3 and stealing the till which contained £150.
