SOAP WATCH
JAMIE’S QUICK & EASY FOOD
Channel 4, 8pm
YOU want to make asparagus ribbons? Or de-seed a pomegranate? No? Well, you soon will.
Chef Jamie Oliver has such an enthusiasm for his easy-peasy, failsafe cooking that by the end, we’ll all be speed grating lemon zest like pros.
You only need five ingredients for each recipe, half an hour and probably a speed peeler and you’re set.
“What are you waiting for, you shouldn’t even be watching anymore?” he says, having whipped up a hot salmon and asparagus tagliatelle.
Next there’s a cherry chard rice, not something found on most people’s weekly menus. Ok, so you have to find chard. And sour cherries. But at least we’ve got rice…
A no-nonsense family favourite is up next in the form of a sausage and apple bake. “A scruffy, brilliant combo” raves a
clearly excited Jamie
Finally, a spiced, whole roast cauliflower turns that veg everyone hates into a showstopper.
THE OTHER ONE
BBC1, 9pm/BBC1 Wales, 9.30pm
IT’S the night before the wedding and Cathy and Marcus have their ‘pre-nup drink-up’ – but it’s not as fun as it sounds.
Cathy (Ellie White) is obsessed by the scuff on the wall that Marcus (Amit Shah) made when he was trying to throw her the car keys. She needs him to run to the DIY store mid-party if she’s ever going to relax.
Elsewhere, there’s a brilliant exchange between Marcus’s mum Mishti, played by Shobu Kapoor, who really doesn’t want to be there and wonders who Marilyn is.
Marilyn (Siobhan Finneran) sheds some light: “I made love to Cathy’s father for three glorious decades.” The pair bond over booze in the ladies’ loos.
Watch out also for Caroline Quentin as Tess’s annoying sister Dawn.
Cat (Lauren Socha) affectionately threatens Marcus that he had better treat her sister well.
And there’s a run-in with Cat’s old school bully and a paint job that gets out of hand.
EMMERDALE

Elsewhere, Harriet gets a surprise proposal, which only serves to make her feel even more guilty.
Chas cautions Belle over her relationship with Jamie, which leaves Belle worried. And Bob gets to grips with the “online lark” of a new dating site.
