Emergency services attended the A50 westbound at 4.43am yesterday after reports of a collision involving a man and a HGV.

A man in his 30s was confirmed dead at the scene. His family are being offered support from specially trained officers at this difficult time, said a police spokesman.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called by police at 4.43am to reports of a collision involving a lorry and pedestrian on the A50 in Uttoxeter. Two ambulances and a paramedic officer attended.
