Revamped Aldi is opening its doors later this week

-

A DERBY supermarket will reveal a fresh new look when it reopens later this week.

Aldi, in Uttoxeter New Road, will reopen its doors to customers on Thursday following a huge refurbishment as part of a major project to improve stores across the country.

The site now has a more “customerfocused layout” with wider aisles.

Garth Bracey, Aldi store manager, said: “The store is looking fantastic, and we can’t wait to welcome our loyal customers back so they can see it for themselves.

“We’re committed to making sure that the shopping experience each customer enjoys in our stores is on a par with the products and services they’re used to.

“Customers will notice a few small changes throughout the store to align with social distancing guidelines, ensuring we keep our community safe, and we thank you for the co-operation in ensuring the safety of both our colleagues and customers.”

The format has been created to make shopping easier for Derby customers and the store will now have wider aisles and clearer signs.

Fresh bread and cakes have been moved to the last aisle, preventing them getting squashed under customers’ shopping, and the store will now offer new, easy-to-browse freezers.

The new-look store offers increased space dedicated to British meat and fish, Lacura health and beauty products, beers, wines and spirits and Mamia babycare products.

There will also be an improved Food to Go section, offering a choice of fresh salads, sandwiches and sushi.

The store employs 38 members of staff and the refurbishment has created an additional three jobs.

During opening week, the store will be offering a wide range of baking essentials, including a 3-in-1 hand blender for £14.99, a classic stand mixer for £49.99 and a 4-piece bakeware set for £9.99.

The store, which has 100 parking spaces, will be open 8am until 10pm, Mondays to Saturdays, as well as from 10am until 4pm on Sundays.
