Justice catches up with drivers who broke the law
A NUMBER of motorists have been convicted of driving offences in recent days.
Robert Bramley, 50, of Green Farm Close, Holme Hall, was jailed for 16 weeks, suspended for a year, and ordered to pay £85 costs, a £122 victim surcharge and was disqualified from driving for six months for driving while disqualified and without insurance in Matlock Road, Ashover, on January 27.
Nicholas Jennings, 57, of Glenmoor Road, Buxton, was handed a 12-month community order and ordered to pay £85 costs, a £95 victim surcharge and was disqualified for 36 months for drinkdriving in Morrisons car park in Bakewell Road, Buxton, on April 21. A test saw him blow a reading of 84 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when the legal limit is 35.
Jacob Hutton, 20 of Wren Park Road, Wingerworth, was fined £300 and ordered to pay £85 costs, a £32 victim surcharge and was disqualified from driving for six months for driving while over the legal limit for cannabis in Stand Road, Chesterfield, on October 20, 2019.
Joanna Foy, 46, of Stephenson Place, Clay Cross, was fined £62 and ordered to pay £85 costs, a £32 victim surcharge and had her licence endorsed with three points for speeding at 39mph in a 30mph limit in Birkin Lane, Temple Normanton, on January 23.
Matthew Gregory, 42, of Spital Lane, Spital, was fined £76 and ordered to pay £85 costs, a £32 victim surcharge and had his licence endorsed with three penalty points for speeding at 39mph in a 30mph limit in Chesterfield Road, Matlock, on April 20.
Shane Margereson, 38, of Longedge Lane, Wingerworth, was fined £220 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £32 victim surcharge for driving without a seat belt in Sheffield Road, Chesterfield, on March 10.
Lewis Shaw, 37, of Slant Lane, Shirebrook, was fined £325 and ordered to pay £85 costs, a £34 victim surcharge and was disqualified for three years for drink-driving in Slant Lane, Shirebrook, on April 4. He blew a reading of 79 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
Jason Shrimpton, 39, of Somersby Avenue, Walton, was handed a 12-month community order, with an eight-week curfew, ordered to pay £85 costs, a £90 victim surcharge and was disqualified from driving for two years for drink-driving in Sheffield Road, Stonegravels, on March 14. A test saw him blow a reading of 93 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
Richard Bramley, 34, of Tom Thorn Farm, Fairfield, Buxton, was fined £350 and ordered to pay £85 costs, a £35 victim surcharge and had his licence endorsed with six points for driving while disqualified and without insurance in Causeway Lane, Matlock, on April 18.
Robert Kelly, 35, of Bamford Road, Inkersall, was fined £266 and ordered to pay £85 costs, a £32 victim surcharge and was disqualified for 24 months for driving without a valid licence or insurance in Whittington Hill, Old Whittington, on February 2.
John Costelloe, 47, of Waterloo Street, Bramley Vale, was fined £774 and ordered to pay £85 costs, a £75 victim surcharge and was disqualified for 23 months for drink-driving on the A617 in Chesterfield, on June 3. A test saw him blow a reading of 96 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
Alan Green, 36, of Cliff Road, Fairfield, was fined £333 and ordered to pay £85 costs, a £33 victim surcharge and had his licence endorsed with five points for failing to stop following an accident in Waterswallows Road, Fairfield, on July 21, 2019.
Jeremy Mitchell, 35, of Hunloke Avenue, Boythorpe, was fined £340 and ordered to pay £85 costs, a £34 victim surcharge and was disqualified for 17 months for drink-driving on the A61 in Chesterfield, on December 20. A test saw him blow a reading of 61 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
Richard Wilson, 47, of Wharf Road, Pinxton, was fined £220 and ordered to pay £85 costs, a £32 victim surcharge and had his licence endorsed with three points for speeding at 36mph in a 30mph limit in Mansfield Road, South Normanton, on January 28.
Dawid Zelek, 22, of St Augustine’s Mount, Birdholme, was fined £440 and ordered to pay £85 costs, a £44 victim surcharge and had his licence endorsed with five points for driving without due care and attention in Baslow Road, Chesterfield, on March 10.
Izzac Ward, 25, of Yeoman Street, Bonsall, was fined £150 and ordered to pay £85 costs, a £34 victim surcharge and had his licence endorsed with three penalty points for driving without due care and attention in The Hill, Cromford, on May 29.
Lorraine Webster, 54, of Derby Road, Wirksworth, was fined £293 and ordered to pay £85 costs, a £32 victim surcharge and had her licence endorsed with four penalty points for speeding at 41mph in a 30mph limit in Cromford Hill, on February 1.
