QPR sign Adomah, Royals land a loan

SOME Championsh­ip clubs were busy yesterday as they tried to improve their squads.

Here we take a look at some of those clubs who added recruits.

QPR

Rangers have been in the market for a winger and they finally got their man after landing Albert Adomah following his departure from Nottingham Forest last week.

Adomah was thrilled to tie up the deal at the club he supports and said: “This is unreal, unbelievab­le.

“Imagine being a supporter and playing for the club you love.

“Words can’t even describe it. It’s just amazing, just a pleasure to be here.”

QPR also signed Benfica forward Chris Willock for an undisclose­d fee on a three-year deal.

READING

The Royals have followed up their signing of Alfa Semedo with Tomas Esteves on a season-long loan move from FC Porto.

Esteves is currently with the Portugal Under-20 squad and will remain on internatio­nal duty.

Reading manager Veljko Paunovic sai: “Tomas is a young, talented, versatile full-back, full of promise, potential and a real hunger to succeed. He will add good competitio­n for places amongst our squad and I am delighted he has agreed to join us at Reading.”

BARNSLEY

Barnsley have completed the signing of Scottish youth internatio­nal striker Jack Aitchison.

He has signed a three-year deal after leaving Scottish giants Celtic FC, but will join a League Two club immediatel­y on loan.

BIRMINGHAM CITY Birmingham City have signed Australian midfielder Riley McGree on loan for the rest of the season.

The 21-year-old joins the Championsh­ip club from North Carolina-based franchise Charlotte FC.

McGree signed for Charlotte from Australian side Adelaide United but the American outfit are not expected to join the MLS until 2022’s expansion.
