Bus driver is injured by rocks hurled from bridge
POLICE APPEAL FOR DASHCAM FOOTAGE
POLICE have issued a warning after five vehicles were damaged by rocks thrown from a bridge near Derby city centre, one injuring a bus driver.
Two cars, a lorry, a van and a bus were all hit by rocks thrown from a train bridge spanning Eastgate, close to the Trentbarton bus garage off Pentagon Island.
The incidents took place at around 7pm on Monday, with the bus driver sustaining facial injuries after being hit by glass from a damaged windscreen.

Centre Police Safer Neighbourhood Team took to social media to alert motorists that rocks were being thrown from the bridge on Monday night.
An officer posted on Facebook at 10.25pm: “Warning! We have had several reports of damage being caused to vehicles by a group throwing rocks/ stones off the train bridge onto the
A601 into the city. This type of behaviour is totally unacceptable and dangerous. Enquiries are ongoing.” Inspector Lauren Woods, who leads the policing team in the city centre, said: “This was a very serious incident and it was only good fortune that there were not more serious injuries as a result of this reckless behaviour. “An investigation is ongoing and I would urge anyone with any information about those responsible to come forward.”
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have dashcam footage. It was only good fortune there were not more serious injuries as a result of this.
