Sales start as stores return to business

SALES are now on at a number of stores at Derby’s biggest shopping centre with Christmas just over two weeks away.

Dozens of non-essential shops reopened at the Derby Centre, formerly Intu Derby, last week as the second Covid-19 lockdown came to an end.

Now back open after four weeks closed, many big name stores have launched discounts to entice customers to return for the busy Christmas shopping period.

Among them are fashion brands H&M on Level 1, which is offering up to 50% off some items, and New Look on Level 2, where a 60% off sale is now on.

Other outlets getting involved include sports-fashion store JD Sports, footwear shop Foot Asylum, and clothing brand Superdry. Here is a list of 12 Derby Centre stores where sales are now on:

■ Design 44: 50% off Christmas items

■ Foot Asylum: Black Friday deals still on

■ The Fragrance Shop: £10 off when you spend £80 or £25 off when you spend £125

■ H&M: up to 50% off

■ JD Sports: Black Friday sale has been extended

■ Kiko: Buy three and get three free

■ New Look: 60% off sale

■ River Island: Various promotions

■ Smiggle: Up to 40% off

■ Superdry: £15 voucher when you spend £100

■ Topshop: Various promotions

■ Trespass: Flash sale now on Shoppers arriving after 5pm at the Derby Centre will be able to park for free until Wednesday, December 23. Visitors can also get free parking when picking up takeaways from restaurant­s and cafés in the shopping centre, including Wagamama, Zizzi and Costa Coffee.

A number of safety measures are in place across the Derby Centre including additional staff to help manage footfall, the requiremen­t to wear face coverings, enhanced cleaning regimes across all visitor touch points, and hand sanitising stations.
