SEVEN MORE COVID-19 DEATHS ACROSS DERBYSHIRE

A FURTHER seven deaths linked to coronaviru­s have been recorded across Derbyshire, according to NHS England figures.

There were six new fatalities at Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust and one at Chesterfie­ld Royal Hospital.

The Government said a further 189 people had died in the UK within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Monday, bringing the total to 61,434.

Separate figures by the UK’s statistics agencies for deaths where Covid-19 has been mentioned on the death certificat­e, together with additional data on deaths that have occurred in recent days, show there have now been 77,000 deaths involving Covid-19 in the UK.

In the latest 24-hour period, another 177 new cases of Covid-19 have been recorded across the county. As of 9am yesterday, there had been a further 14,718 lab-confirmed cases in the UK. It brings the total number of cases in the UK to 1,737,960.

In Derby, there has been an increase of 46, bringing the total to 8,165. Elsewhere, there have been rises of 24 in South Derbyshire, 15 in Bolsover, and 6 in North East Derbyshire.

Here is the breakdown for each local authority area: Amber Valley 3,684 (up 23); Bolsover 2,624 (up 15); Chesterfie­ld 2,821 (up 21); Derby 8,165 (up 46); Derbyshire Dales 1,288 (up 13); Erewash 3,035 (up 16); High Peak 2,444 (up 13); NE Derbyshire 2,975 (up 6); South Derbyshire 3,146 (up 24).
