Plenty of goals in big return

EIGHT games yielded 54 goals as the Midlands Regional Alliance returned to action after the second lockdown.

In the Mel Williams Premier Division, Lewis Macaskill’s treble inspired Tibshelf to a 6-3 victory over Rolls-Royce Leisure, with Nathan Flint, Ryan Baldwin and Aaron Turner also on target.

Shirebrook Rangers and Rowsley 86 Reserves drew 1-1, Jordan Turek scoring for Rangers and Monty Green for Rowsley.

In Drayton PACS Division One, Little Eaton Reserves edged out Hilton Harriers Reserves 5-4 thanks to goals from Ed McIntyre (2), Sam Hartshorne, Paul Quinnonez and Sam Jefferson.

Lewis Hanley, Andy Castlehow, Callum Samson and Danny Myers replied.

Leaders Melbourne Dynamo Reserves extended their unbeaten start to eight with a 5-2 victory over Sherwin with goals from Jacob Dussroth (2), Toby Foxon, Owen Morrell and Dave Brough. Matthew Harper and Adrian Westfield replied for second-bottom Sherwin.

University of Derby beat Willington 4-3 with Joe Trevor (2), Tino Mtangadura and Jack Allen on target. Tom Braithwait­e (2) and Lewis Wilson replied.

Goals from Shane Burrows and James Gamlin guided Bargate Rovers to a 2-1 win away to Wirksworth Ivanhoe Reserves.

In Division Two, Melbourne Dynamo Developmen­t came out on top 7-5 against Derby United, Sam Holdgate and Cole Hassell both scoring hat-tricks.

Punjab United thrashed Willington Reserves 5-0, with goals from Ranveer Pangulier, Josh Matkin, Charlie Cotton, Jack Cook and Connor Jacob.
