Some people took to Facebook to express their sadness at the news of the closures, with many reminiscing about their happy memories at the restaurants.

One commentator said: “What is happening???? How is this even possible? Pizza Hut in Foresters Park is my childhood! Before Covid it has been a monthly family ritual and gathering spot. The staff are absolutely amazing!”

Another added: “This is really sad. I have fond memories of both places. When I moved to Derby 19 years ago, my stepdad used to take me and my family regularly.

“Wish all your staff the best in the future.”
