A LARGE black glass chandelier, a 40-year-old book of famous autographs and a lucky four-leaf clover are just some of the unexpected items that have been found at Derby’s Travelodge sites.

The hotel chain has released its lost and found inventory list for the past 12 months, which outlines the weird and wonderful things guests have left in their rooms.

Across the country’s 563 Travelodge sites, visitors have forgotten everything from an R2-D2 robot to a William Shakespeare

outfit and skull.

Many of this year’s finds have been drastically different from those in the past however, after key workers used the hotels for accommodation during the pandemic.

Shakila Ahmed, Travelodge spokeswoman, said: “Interestingly, as we kept some of our hotels open during both lockdowns to support local communities and provide accommodation for key workers, local authorities and for businesses that could travel for work we have seen a rise in items being left behind by medical professionals.

“This includes a stethoscope, scrubs, crocs and a nurse’s personal diary documenting their experience of working through the pandemic plus lots of personalised face masks.”

Here is a list of the most bizarre items found in the city’s three
