Burton are no worse off as strugglers lose

NO further damage was done to Burton Albion’s position at the bottom of League One in Tuesday night’s matches.

Three clubs among the six immediatel­y above the Brewers were beaten: AFC Wimbledon, Bristol Rovers and Rochdale.

Wimbledon were thumped 4-0 away to Portsmouth, who now sit one point from the top in third place.

John Marquis, Ryan Williams, Sean Raggett and Ben Close were all on target for Pompey.

Jon Taylor’s goal saw Doncaster Rovers beat Rochdale 1-0.

Bristol came back from 2-0 down away to Crewe Alexandra before losing 3-2.

Charlie Kirk and Ryan Wintle scored first-half goals for Crewe, Rovers hitting back within six minutes of the start of the second half through Max Ehmer and Luke McCormick.

Olly Lancashire’s 55th-minute diving header for Crewe completed the scoring.

Former Burton loanee Joe Mason’s first-half hat-trick gave MK Dons a 3-1 win at home to Fleetwood Town, who scored a late consolatio­n through Sam Finley.

Fleetwood are now six matches without a win as they seek a replacemen­t for Joey Barton as manager.

Hull City are back on top after a 3-0 home win over Accrington Stanley.
