household will be legally permitted from March 8 at the earliest as the “stay at home” order is relaxed. Nightclubs will be among the last venues to remain shuttered, with their reopening not earmarked until Step 4.

But progress into each step requires four tests being: the success of the vaccine rollout, evidence of vaccine efficacy, an assessment of new variants, and keeping infection rates below a level that could put unsustainable pressure on the NHS.

OCCUPANTS of a Derbyshire house notorious for being a magnet for anti-social behaviour, crime and drug taking have been evicted.

A court order has been obtained to kick out the residents out of a property in Glebe Avenue, Pinxton.

It is an offence for anyone to step foot inside. Long-suffering neighbours have breathed a sigh of relief now Bolsover District Council have boarded up the house.

Residents of Glebe Avenue have been subjected to crime, anti-social behaviour and drug-taking all coming from the property.

Despite multiple attempts by the council to solve the issues, the problems persisted and the quality of life in the area continued to suffer.

The occupants have now been evicted and the house will stand empty for the next few months.

One resident expressed her relief the problem has been solved.

She said: “It’s been a nightmare, there was always something going on in that house, it was disruptive to the entire neighbourhood.”

Bolsover District Council’s cabinet member for community safety, Councillor Clive Moesby, said: “It’s never nice for anyone to have to put up with anti-social behaviour day and night so we had no hesitation in using the closure power legislation.”

The closure order will remain in place for three months, making it an imprisonable offence for anyone to step foot inside the property. During this time, the council will look to take possession of the property in an effort to prevent any similar behaviour from continuing.

Cllr Moseby added: “This should serve as a warning to others that we will not tolerate this type of behaviour.”

Local councillor for Pinxton, Mary Dooley said, “I am delighted with this outcome. Issues like this can be lengthy and take time to resolve, but thankfully the wait has been worth it and the local community can get back to normality now.”
