Plans to build business park the size of 10 sports pitches

-

TWO industrial units covering an area the size of ten football pitches could be built in a Derbyshire town.

Plans have been submitted to construct the buildings on vacant land between Derby Road and Anchor Road in the Access 26 Business Park in Langley Mill.

The units, covering an area of around 70,000 sq m, could be used either as offices, for general industrial use or as storage or distribution warehouses.

Each building would have associated parking spaces, while allowing the front portion of both units to be converted into office space should it be desired.

In planning documents submitted by C4 Projects on behalf of the applicant to Amber Valley Borough Council, it says the units would be suitable for variety of uses as the site is already located within “an existing established commercial park”.

It said: “The application relates to the construction of two Industrial buildings, with associated parking, landscaping and infrastructure”

It added: “The development does not impact on any locally designated ecological sites or protected habitats or areas.

“The portion of land on which the extension is to be built is currently hardstanding access/ service roads. Natural screening, in the form of existing trees and shrubs, is to be retained along the boundary between the site & residential area.”
